I am in the middle of doing a mechanical Scorpion kinda thing ising 3D MAX, if you get a chance take a look, I would love to hear what you think as you seem to have a talent for 3D Modelling.

I use lightwave 8.0, but I've head MAX is really good too. I'd love to see the picture when you do a render of it
The scorpion you're making looks really good, though, I 'd use the same joins on the arms as the legs. The ones on the legs are a little too plain, and don't really look like a ball join. Other than that, the only other thing I can see is the feet, which should be at a point.
Looking raelly good though, can't wait to see it finished!
